How to Prepare a Basic Yangnyeom Jang

3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons sesame seeds
1/5 tsp ground black pepper
1 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil

Korean pear juice and/or green onion juice may be added (for bulgogi seasoning).

To make the yangnyeom jang sauce:

1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, minced green onion, minced garlic, sesame seeds, ground black pepper, and sesame oil.

2. If you want to add Korean pear juice and/or green onion juice for extra flavor, use the extracted juice from half of a Korean pear or 2-3 stalks of green onion and add it to the mixture.

3. Stir the ingredients until well combined. 

Yangnyeom jang may be frozen for later use.

To use for beef:

1. Marinate the beef in the yangnyeom jang sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.

2. After marinating, cook the beef on a grill or in a pan until fully cooked.

3. Serve hot with rice and other side dishes for a delicious Korean meal! 

Yangnyeom Jang as a Dip
