Crispy, juicy, a little sweet, and oh so refreshing

Scientists believe cucumbers originated in northern India. They have been cultivated in this region for over 3,000 years. They spread to other parts of Asia, including China and the Middle East.

The ancient Egyptians were also known to grow and consume cucumbers. In ancient Egypt, cucumbers were so popular that they were even mentioned in the Bible in the book of Numbers due to their cooling and refreshing properties.

Cucumbers were introduced to Europe during the Roman Empire. They were grown in the gardens of wealthy Romans, who even built special buildings called "cucumeria" to cultivate cucumbers all year round.

During the 15th century, European explorers brought cucumbers to the Americas, where they were cultivated in North America, South America, and Central America.

There are cucumbers grown throughout the world today, from Asia to Europe to the Americas. They are versatile, nutritious, and high in vitamins and minerals, including vitamin K, vitamin C, and potassium. Additionally, they are low in calories and high in water, making them a great summer snack.

Cucumbers are fairly easy to grow from seed. Provide a climbing trellis and keep the vine/stems trimmed to one or two branches for the best growth.
