Eggs have been consumed by humans and their hominid ancestors for millions of years. The most widely consumed eggs are those of fowl, especially chickens.
By 1500 BCE, people in Southeast Asia began harvesting chicken eggs for food.

Almost every culture consumes eggs, including chicken eggs, goose eggs, duck eggs, and ostrich eggs

Around 12.6% of the edible part of an egg is protein. Eggs are a good source of vitamins A, B, E, and K.

As well as fried, boiled, poached, steamed, scrambled, and omelets, eggs are also used in soups, baking, salads, ground meats, batters, fry dips, and garnishes.

Are Eggs Good for You?
Like anything else, if you over indulge there are consequences. Consuming nothing but eggs probably is not healthy, but reasonable consumption by people who do not have allergies or sensitivities can be beneficial.
