식혜 sikhye
A traditional sweet dessert drink made of malt and rice. When served, there are often rice grains
floating on top. Also called dansul.
Sikhye, also known as shikhye or shikae, is a traditional Korean rice beverage that is often served as a dessert. It is made from malted barley flour, giving it a unique taste.
There are four components to this drink: Malted Barley Flour, Water as the base, Steamed White Rice to add texture, and Sugar to sweeten it. For extra flavor and visual appeal, pine nuts and thinly sliced dried jujubes can be added as garnishes.
