조기 jogi
As a food fish, Jogi (Lamichthys polyactis) is sometimes called redlip croaker, small yellow croaker, little yellow croaker, or yellow corvina, among others. In addition to being used in Korean cuisine, this fish is also eaten in other east and south east Asian cuisines. It is found in temperate seas of the western Pacific, including the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea.
Used either fresh (jogi 조기) or lightly salted and dried (gulbi 굴비).
Health Benefits: Yellow croaker is high in protein, low in carbohydrates, and contains essential B vitamins (B6 and B12) and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
